This insecurity has been brought about by the way the people have been educated and taught over the past few generations. P-3 Incident Over China; Spy Mission Gone Bad

We all remember the P-3 Orion Spy Mission over Chinese Waters and the two Chinese Fighters intercepted it and one indeed crashed into the P-3 and the Chinese Pilot, hot dog type ejected and was lost at sea. The P-3 was severely damaged but it is a tough bird. The People's Republic of China offers a variety of tax breaks and financial incentives to encourage inbound investment.

National government incentives vary based on how much money you are investing and whether or not your scheme is settled in one of China's extra economic zones; local incentives vary by jurisdiction according to relative bargaining power. The tendency in recent years has been for China's central and western provinces, who have been starved of foreign investment in comparison with well-fed coastal cities like Shanghai and Beijing, to offer incentive packages that are considerably more compassionate than those offered to foreign investors 'back east'. The national government is now actively encouraging foreign investors to pour money into China's relatively undeveloped hinterlands in order to spread wealth more evenly throughout the country and stem the flow of economic migrants to the coast.

China's standard corporate tax rate is set at 30%. However, in inescapable locations the rate can decrease dramatically. Enterprises settled in inescapable areas designated as "open to foreign investment" pay only 24%. The refund rate rises to 100% if the business in which profits are reinvested is classified as a Technologically advanced business or Export Oriented Enterprise. This refund must be returned, however, if the reinvested finds are withdrawn within five years.

The foregoing description is not exhaustive - China offers assorted other investment incentives. One of the things that the Chinese were forced to do in their defeat to the French was to let missionaries to be set up in China. This meant for a divisive kind of society, and led to supplementary Western encroachment. China's sovereignty was waning and the Chinese bitterly resented it.

The most important of these is the 99-year lease taken out on Hong Kong in 1898.
